The Parish Masses are the central celebrations of any parish community. Our music program aims to preserve and foster the treasury of sacred music, teach the practice of sacred music and hold the pipe organ in high esteem.
St. Isaac Jogues Parish has many professional and volunteer members who lend their skill and dedication to the liturgical celebrations of our parish. Cantor and organ lead the Sunday Masses at 8:30am, 10:00am, and 7:00pm. We are blessed to have a Youth Choir which provides the music at our Saturday 4:30pm liturgy and the Parish Choir which enriches the 11:30am Mass on Sunday morning and sings on special feast days and for the Easter Triduum. Specific information regarding the choirs are presented below as well as details about contact information. We are always searching for interested members to join us in our program, so please consider this an invitation!
The St. Isaac Jogues Youth Choir consists of singers from the tender age of four to eighteen! The choir sings at the 4:30pm Mass on Saturday afternoons. The Youth Choir rehearses on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. Please contact Vanessa Lowing through the church office for information on joining.
The St. Isaac Jogues Parish Choir is made up of volunteers who enjoy singing and wish to help preserve the great tradition of classical liturgical music and in doing so maintain it as a vibrant living tradition within the Roman Catholic Church. Its members come from both professional as well as non-professional music backgrounds. They have a love of singing wonderful hymns and the classical works of composers such as Palestrina, Mozart and Franck. The Choir sings the Mass using the Gregorian Ordinaries appropriate to the liturgical year as well as the English Propers. This choir's motivation is for the glory of God! As a volunteer in the Parish Choir one will meet a vibrant community of diverse people who are self-giving and have a deep love of life. St. Isaac Jogues Parish Choir sings in four parts and is always welcoming of choristers willing to make the sacrifice and commitment necessary to glorify God on a weekly basis. The Parish Choir sings at the 11:30am Mass on Sunday. Rehearsals take place each Wednesday evening in the church loft from 8:00 until 9:30. Please contact Anna Hughes at annashughes@yahoo.ca or the parish office for more information.
